Comcast Mobile Apps Redesign

Summary

I was responsible for the redesign of the Comcast mobile apps website. The website was not built to be responsive, which was impacting the number of app downloads on mobile devices.

Goal

Our goal was to take a mobile-first approach to redesign and increase the number of app downloads from mobile devices. This project had an aggressive timeline and required collaboration with the product manager, and stakeholders, and pairing with the developer to deliver the design.

Role:

Lead UX Designer
Interaction, Visual design, and Usability testing

Process

  • Understanding of the problem
  • Discovery & Ideation
  • User flows and wireframes
  • Visual design and iterations
  • Paired with the development team to implement design
  • Testing UI and QA

Visual Design

Created user flows and wireframes of key screen sizes shared with stakeholders and iterated based on feedback until it was time to go hi-fidelity.

Sketches & Workflows

In order to handle adding complex, custom, and template techniques the UI needed to be in its own contextual view of techniques.

Responsive Design

The new design needed to work across the web, tablet, and mobile.

Adding a Common Technique

Using a side panel to bring more complex technique functionality we were able to eliminate the frustration of jumping around for the user.
